About The Role:

The Director of Fundraising is crucial to our organization’s growth and sustainability. The person in this role will be responsible for developing and executing a sustainable fundraising strategy that supports all of our programs across the country in-line with our growth targets. Building off an established community of donors, you will grow our donor base while taking ownership all of our existing senior relationships and lead the fundraising efforts that enable us to deliver on our mission.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of a fundraising strategy that supports strategic goals across a diverse range of donors
  • Work closely with the CEO and fundraising coordinator to transition ownership of all existing fundraising relationships
  • Develop a communication plan and promote the organization to its donors and maximize public awareness of the fundraising activities of the organization
  • Manage and train our fundraising coordinator to deliver effective stewardship for existing and new partners, grant writing management, lead generation, and chapter-level partnership and fundraising support
  • Work closely with the COO to develop a KPI framework and reporting systems which provides the basis for performance evaluation for all fundraising efforts
  • Oversee the administration of a donor mailing list and CRM

Work hours and environment

Work hours are flexible working from home or independently from workshop space. The environment will be that of an alternative, open workspace. This is a senior role that will manage our fundraising coordinator and report to our COO.

About You

The Director of Fundraising will have previously led fundraising initiatives for a national organization in Canada. We’re looking for someone who not only has successful fundraising experience but also has developed and implemented a fundraising strategy.

Qualifications and experiences that would help succeed in this role::

  • A minimum of 5 years experience fundraising and partnership development at a not-for-profit with a track record of raising six figure donations
  • Experience securing government grants in Canada
  • Experience managing a budget, sales pipeline/CRM and using data to drive decision making
  • Experience building relationships with corporations and foundations
  • Comfortable in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment working on a team and independently to reach targets
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Fluency in both English and French will be seen as an asset

About Ladies Learning Code
Ladies Learning Code is a Canada-wide not-for-profit organization that runs workshops for women and youth who want to learn beginner-friendly computer programming and other technical skills in a social and collaborative way. Today they have 32 chapters (and counting) across Canada, a thriving girls' program called Girls Learning Code and co-ed kids program called Kids Learning Code and a big goal to teach 200,000 Canadian women and youth to code by 2020.
